About Us

PCARC members come from a variety of backgrounds and occupations, but all have a common interest in Amateur Radio and a desire to provide community service. Many of our members actively participate in organizations such as the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES), the National Weather Service SKYWARN program, and the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (R.A.C.E.S.).

Although our community assistance has been most non-existent, and we are striving to change that, we have held numerous Special Event Stations in which the Public has been invited to learn more about Amateur Radio and what it has to offer.

PCARC has a working relationship with the City of Carthage and the Panola County Emergency Management Office, and are willing to work with them to help provide communication needs when they arise.

Our monthly meetings allow a social gathering of our members to learn more about Amateur Radio, whether a technical presentation on how to solder connectors to coax, or a slide presentation on how to send traffic, while attending the business of day to day club operations.

Our weekly nets allow On-the-air training and practice to allow us to become better and proficient operators.

We are a registered 501c3 CHARITABLE TAX EXEMPT organization, incorporated under the laws of the State of Texas.
